Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using MySolar Pulse ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms constitute a binding agreement between you and MySolar Pulse, an independent software product operated by its individual developer.

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Description of Service

MySolar Pulse is a web application that allows residential PG&E customers with solar NEM (Net Energy Metering) accounts to upload PG&E Green Button interval data (CSV format), analyze their energy import and export patterns, and receive a projected annual True-Up bill estimate based on their time-of-use rate plan.

The Service is designed as a personal financial planning tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) or any utility provider. PG&E® is a registered trademark of Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your password or allow others to access your account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to upload only data you are authorized to use — specifically, your own PG&E interval CSV files downloaded from your personal PG&E account. You must not upload data belonging to another person or entity without authorization.

You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or otherwise interfere with the Service. You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

4. CSV Data & Privacy

Your uploaded PG&E CSV data is stored securely in your personal account and is used solely to power your dashboard. Your data is never sold, licensed, shared with third parties, or used for advertising. See the Privacy Policy below for full details on data handling.

5. No Warranty / Accuracy Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. MYSOLAR PULSE MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

ALL ENERGY PROJECTIONS, TRUE-UP ESTIMATES, COST CALCULATIONS, AND SAVINGS RECOMMENDATIONS PROVIDED BY THE SERVICE ARE ESTIMATES ONLY. THEY ARE BASED ON HISTORICAL USAGE DATA AND PUBLICLY AVAILABLE RATE INFORMATION AND MAY NOT REFLECT ACTUAL PG&E BILLING. RATE PLANS, TARIFFS, AND BILLING CALCULATIONS CHANGE FREQUENTLY.

THIS SERVICE DOES NOT PROVIDE FINANCIAL, UTILITY, LEGAL, OR PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. DO NOT MAKE FINANCIAL OR ENERGY-RELATED DECISIONS BASED SOLELY ON INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THIS SERVICE. CONSULT YOUR UTILITY PROVIDER AND RELEVANT PROFESSIONALS FOR ACCURATE BILLING INFORMATION.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MYSOLAR PULSE AND ITS DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL MYSOLAR PULSE'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY DOLLARS ($50), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIABILITY. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS APPLY TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your account data and uploaded CSV data will be removed from our systems within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.

MySolar Pulse reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in abuse of the Service, or for any other reason at our sole discretion. We will endeavor to provide reasonable notice where practicable.

8. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via email or a notice within the Service.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how MySolar Pulse collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. What We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not collect your name, phone number, or payment information (the Service is currently free).

Profile information: During onboarding, you may provide your PG&E rate plan, ZIP code, and True-Up date. This information is stored to power your dashboard and is not shared with third parties.

Energy usage data: You may upload PG&E Green Button interval CSV files containing your household energy import and export data, timestamped at 15-minute or hourly intervals. This data is stored in your personal account and is never shared, sold, or used for any purpose other than powering your dashboard.

Usage analytics: We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (e.g., page views, feature interactions) to improve the Service. This data cannot be used to identify you individually.

2. How We Use It

We use the information we collect solely to: (a) provide and operate the Service; (b) personalize your dashboard with your rate plan, zip code, and energy data; (c) send transactional emails such as account confirmation and password reset; and (d) improve the Service based on anonymous usage patterns.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose unrelated to the Service. We do not sell your data to any third party, ever.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored using Supabase, a database platform with servers located in the United States. Supabase implements industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit (TLS). The Service is hosted on Vercel, a cloud platform based in the United States.

Your email and password credentials are managed by Supabase Auth. Passwords are never stored in plain text — Supabase handles credential hashing and security.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data and uploaded energy data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Anonymous, aggregated analytics data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked to you.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your profile information from the Settings page. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, use the account deletion option in Settings or contact us at the address below.

California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at the address below.

6. Cookies

The Service uses cookies and local storage solely for authentication session management (to keep you logged in) and to remember your UI preferences such as dark/light mode and font size. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, which will log you out of the Service.

Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we are required to disclose our use of cookies and similar tracking technologies.

Cookies we use: Authentication cookies — set by Supabase Auth to maintain your login session. These are strictly necessary; without them, you will be logged out on every page load. Preference storage— we use your browser's localStorage (not a cookie) to remember UI settings such as dark/light mode and font size. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

What we do not use: We do not use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, fingerprinting scripts, or any third-party analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel).

Your rights under California law: California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected via cookies, the right to opt out of the sale of that information (we do not sell it), and the right to request deletion. You may exercise these rights by clearing your browser cookies and localStorage at any time via your browser settings, which will also log you out of the Service.

How to opt out: Clear cookies via your browser settings (typically Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data). You may also configure your browser to block cookies; note that blocking authentication cookies will prevent you from staying logged in. For questions about our cookie practices, contact us at jmilly@me.com.

8. Third-Party Services

Vercel (vercel.com) — application hosting and edge network. Vercel may process request logs including IP addresses for security and performance purposes. Their privacy policy is available at vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
